This helps to keep out any harmful particulate media from getting into your engine and gumming up the works, helps to make sure that you have the proper amount of air flow if you change these out relatively regularly. Since it's going to be trapping in all that stuff, goes in through here, and we'll have this expanded metal plate to give it some shape and give it some structural stability. There's also a nice, big thick silicone seal going around the perimeters that helps to take up any gaps and make sure that there's no way that anything can get around that. So, keeps it nice and airtight.Again, you can see those pleats, it's going to trap all of that stuff inside, and again, keep it from going on into your engine and causing any issues. more

Our engine air filter filters that air coming through our air box into our engine. Now, over time, these filters get built up and that build up on the filter, just causes our engine to work a little bit harder. So changing this routinely gets cleaner air to our engine and it doesn't have to work as hard long-term.Like I said, this should be changed routinely. I personally change mine every oil change, just to make sure that my engine doesn't have to work any harder than it already is. more
